Brandeis is privileged to accept rabbinic interns through our OU-JLIC Fellows Program. Meet our fellows!
Robbie Schrier grew up in a simple and quaint Jewish community known as Woodmere, New York. At a very young age, he developed an uncanny ability to memorize movie quotes with alarming accuracy. An obsession with The Lord of the Rings films was quick to follow. After attending DRS, HALB High School for Boys, Robbie studied in Yeshivat Har Etzion (otherwise known as The Gush) for one year in Israel before attending Yeshiva University. While in Yeshiva University, Robbie studied psychology and Jewish history while developing a habit of long distance running and flying to the midwest with NCSY. He has studied under Rabbi Michael Rosensweig for five years and is currently enrolled in the RIETS rabbinical seminary.
Ora Schrier, no stranger to commuting long distances for worthwhile experiences, has a rotation of alphabet games, harry potter audio books and music no one really wants to listen to for 3.5 hours, ready for the ride up to Boston. Originally from Monsey, New York, Ora spent her high school years commuting to Bruriah in Elizabeth, New Jersey before setting off for a year of learning in Israel at Michlalah. After Israel Ora attended Stern where she studied Political Science and Jewish Education while spending her weekends working with New England NCSY. Since graduating Stern Ora has earned an MA in both New York City Parking and Jewish Education. These days, she spends her time teaching 11th and 12th grade Tanakh at Ma’ayanot in Teaneck and feels blessed to be living the adage “if you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life” (but will still challenge anyone who claims to pray for snow days more than she does :).The daughter of a mixed Boston Red Sox/Yankees marriage, she is excited to return to the Boston area!
